General Overview
Perform purchasing and finance activities related to materials and invoice receipting and processing; surplus equipment declaration; and fixed asset tracking and reporting.  Prepare and input data to appropriate business and accounting systems such as SAP and run reports. Process transactions, check accuracy and make the necessary corrections.    Process updates to data bases; perform clerical duties; perform calculations and update statistical spreadsheets and databases. Perform other duties as required.

Skill/Experience
  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent plus additional specialized courses in purchasing and/or accounting
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of arithmetic to perform various calculations
  • Basic knowledge of SAP, an asset 
  • Knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, etc.
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Good customer service skills and ability to deal with internal and external contacts
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required
  • A period of up to 3 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
