As a technical specialist, perform evaluations and tests, examinations and in-plant inspections of components, equipment and systems in the laboratory and at nuclear generating stations.

 

Kinectrics is seeking experienced candidates and new grads from a variety of disciplines including electrical and mechanical engineering technology and candidates with specialized knowledge in non-destructive evaluation (NDE). Examples of responsibilities and qualifications are as follows. Shift work will be required.

 

Your Responsibilities 

·         Participate in the set-up, operation and testing of automated inspection systems both in the field and in the laboratory

·         Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated and maintained and help to maintain a safe, well-organized work environment

·         Interact with customers and perform off-site work at customer sites

·         Design, fabrication and maintenance of complex equipment, processes, systems and develop test methods

·         Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems

·         Lead others on a project team and deal directly with the customer to respond to issues/problems

·         Utilize advanced computer systems for data acquisition to assist in preparing technical reports

·         Interact with supervisory and support staff to ensure that work is completed on schedule and to the required quality standards

·         Ensure customer satisfaction by following good quality and safety practices in all aspects of work performed

·         Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures

·         Perform other duties as required


Your Qualifications

·         College diploma in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, mechatronics engineering technology or equivalent

·         Knowledge of machine design and electricity to facilitate assembly, testing and maintenance of devices and systems

·         Experience in carrying out a variety of tests in accordance with established procedures

·         Familiarity with the set up and operation of computer based inspection systems

·         Demonstrated experience in the development, design and fabrication of test equipment and methods

·         Knowledge of eddy current or ultrasonic testing equivalent to CGSB level would be an asset

·         Experience in non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and testing and familiarity with ultrasonic (UT), eddy current (ET, procedures and equipment would be an asset

·         Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with colleagues and customers and prepare technical reports

·         Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills to receive and provide information to customers

·         Ability to travel and participate in nuclear outage support work

 

Shift work will be required.
