Preliminary Decommissioning Plan for a Nuclear Station in Europe

Work on this projection included the following steps:

• Collect the data, and develop the PDP following country regulations, European Commission (EC) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) guidelines.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates using the OMEGA code and incorporate the results into the PDP.
• Develop waste management schedules and methodologies.
• Prepare the PDP for submission to the local nuclear regulator.
• Aligning the PDP with leading international and CANDU specific decommissioning plans and practices.
• Trending international regulatory practices and decommissioing strategies that could impact the approach to decommissioning.
