Leak Location in Oil-Filled Cables

Dates & Locations

Overview

Self-Contained Oil-Filled Cables (SCOF) leaks and the identification of a leak location can be a time-consuming and disruptive process. Kinectrics has developed a procedure and technique that is efficient and less disruptive in the detection of leaks in low-pressure filled cables. This technique involves the use of Perfluoro Carbon Tracers (PFT) and their detection capabilities to locate leaks. This course reviews the step-by-step in-field procedures necessary to implement the improved technique.
