  • Failure investigation and analysis
  • Technical consultation for station engineers and operations staff on equipment details, operating limitations, equipment maintenance and testing for generators and auxiliary equipment
  • Review manufacturers’ drawings, data sheets and associated information to determine the soundness of the generator design. Our technical personnel remain current with the latest design and manufacturing practices for large hydro generators
  • Review detailed plans and procedures submitted by manufacturers regarding:
    • Generator manufacture and generator repairs
    • Modifications - generator factory and site testing
    • Detailed inspection and test plans prepared for generating station staff related to generator maintenance inspections, generator acceptance and maintenance testing
  • Perform detailed generator inspection, including the following functions:
    • Stator winding wedge tightness survey
    • Stator core tightness check
    • Recognize and identify all types of machine deficiencies based on thorough knowledge of the workings of generator auxiliary equipment and systems
  • On-site generator maintenance testing
    • Kinectrics is capable of selecting test levels by means of machine calculations and interpreting the results to enable informed decisions on machine condition and operating limitations regarding the following generator maintenance tests:
