Advanced Tritium Safe Handling Course

Kinectrics is currently seeking respondents who are interested in attending an Advanced Tritium Safe Handling Course. The course will offer practical, "hands-on" training and be taught by industry experts.

DESCRIPTION

A five-day comprehensive course on tritium covering the essentials for working with tritium safely and knowledgeably.  Established experts, using a mixture of classroom lectures and laboratory – hands on - exercises, will teach the course.

  1. Properties of Tritium
  2. Biological Hazards and Dosimetry of Tritium
  3. Tritium Materials Interaction
  4. Contamination Control and Protection
  5. Tritium Monitoring
  6. Tritium Handling Equipment
  7. Waste Management

LABORATORY TRAINING

The in-class section of the course will be complemented with laboratory work using tritium. Students will gain practical experience in the following areas:

  • Dosimetry
  • Contamination/Decontamination
  • Glovebox Design
  • Hydrides
