Kinectrics Names T&D Representative in China

TORONTO, Ontario, October 11, 2007 - Timothy Yau has been appointed the Chief Representative in China for Kinectrics' Transmission and Distribution Technologies (T&D) business. Yau is a United States citizen residing in Beijing, who has considerable experience in both North America and China.

Yau's responsibilties will include pioneering Kinectrics entry into China's power market, which is the second largest in the world and growing at 8% per year. He will seek to introduce Kinectrics' cutting-edge and commercially mature T&D technologies to China with the intent of building a sustainable, long-term, and mutually beneficial business relationship between Kinecctrics and China's T&D industry. The initial focus will be in the areas of Asset Management and High Voltage engineering.

Yau has more than 20 years experience in senior technical and management positions within the global electric power industry. For 17 years, he held a variety of senior positions at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a collaborative research institute for the electric utility industry.

At EPRI, Yau helped lead research in power delivery, end use, energy storage, distributed generation, and strategic planning. He has written extensively in the areas of strategic planning, power system planning and operation, energy conservation and environmental protection, and energy management.

Until recently he served as Executive Director, China Operations for EPRI International. Yau's professional background also includes 10 years senior management experience in commercial enterprises in China. As Chief Executive Officer of Satake China Group of Companies, he initiated the corporation's market entry into China.
