The Kinectrics tilt platform is being used by a mining equipment manufacturer to determine the stability of its loaders and trucks. The tilt platform can safely tip a vehicle weighing up to 50,000 lbs. at angles up to 50º.

The manufacturer requested Kinectrics conduct the tip over testing after one of their loaders tipped over while in use. Testing at Kinectrics simulated the actual conditions reported during the tip over. The actual angle at which tip over would occur was determined. This equipment manufacturer used the information to establish safe operating limits for its vehicles. Testing of the actual vehicle eliminates uncertainties associated with independent testing of discrete components.
