Toronto, Canada – Kinectrics (“the Company”), a privately owned, global provider of integrated life cycle management services to the electric power industry, is pleased to announce that it has completed its acquisition of the Nuclear Romania business from the Wood Group (formerly Amec Foster Wheeler).

The Romania business focuses on nuclear services to the Cernavoda station.

“The closing of the Romania business completes our purchase from the Wood Group, and puts us in a better position to meet the needs of CANDU reactors worldwide,” states David Harris, CEO of Kinectrics. “This acquisition creates a stronger platform for international expansion. With a large, experienced team of industry experts and a broader portfolio of products and services, we are positioned to better serve our customers today and longer term at home and in international markets.”

The Romania acquisition enhances Kinectrics’ nuclear portfolio in key areas of engineering design, plant modification, safety & licensing, fitness for service evaluation, and radiation waste management. Together, the combined company forms an organization capable of undertaking comprehensive projects with a wider scope to meet the evolving needs of nuclear utilities globally.

The addition of Nuclear Romania follows Kinectrics’ international expansion of Transmission and Distribution products and services to European markets and will enable Kinectrics to realize operational efficiencies at the regional level. With complete service continuity to existing customers, the acquisition will allow Kinectrics to offer more value on current services. With an enhanced end-to-end nuclear life cycle management service offering, the Company is now well positioned to compete at the highest levels.
