Your Responsibilities

·         Provide Quality Assurance (QA) inspection and ensure procedures and processes for specialized inspection tooling

·         Assist with project inspection test plans and project quality plans

·         Provide QA support during outages

·         Act as a QA resource to managers and project leaders

·         Liaise with managers, project leaders, project sponsors, and customers

·         Assist in procurement engineering activities, such as preparing incoming inspections

·         Prepare procedures for activities in a nuclear power plant

·         Ensure staff and customers are provided with timely and accurate QA information and status updates

·         Identify opportunities for improvement in the QA process

·         Contribute to the evaluation of projects and lessons learned via post-project review processes

·         Provide support to project leaders as required to close project QA documentation and archive records

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Your Qualifications

·         Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering plus further work experience or equivalent. A Master’s of Science is  preferred

·         At least 6 years’ relevant experience

·         A Licensed Professional Engineer

·         Qualified NQA 1 Lead Auditor

·         Knowledge of welding and weld inspection

·         Experience with Process Improvement/Continuous Improvement, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt an Asset

·         Project management certification is considered an asset

·         Engineering knowledge of and project experience with nuclear inspection and repair tooling

·         Ability to be granted site security clearance

·         Field experience at CANDU site(s)

·         Experience with automated tooling design, build and test

·         Experience in field deployment of tooling to nuclear power plants

·         Experience writing procedures for an automated tooling system

·         Knowledge and experience with various QA programs

·         Experience with nuclear industry requirements around FME, ALARA, and Human Performance tools

·         Experience hosting nuclear industry audits

·         Experience developing vendors

·         Ability to work independently and in a team situation with technical and engineering staff

·         Strong internal/external customer focus

·         Excellent problem-solving, written, technical, non-technical and verbal communications skills

·         Demonstrates tact and diplomacy when resolving conflict

 

 Shift work will be required.
