Kinectrics Expands Seismic Testing Capabilities

October 03, 2011

Kinectrics has responded to the nuclear industry requirements of next generation plants for seismic testing of line-mounted equipment that calls for high level sinusoidal sweeps known as Required Input Motion (RIM). High level sinusoidal sweeps have a defined acceleration amplitude that varies depending on frequency.

Following Kinectrics ongoing capital investment in equipment and facilities, expanded RIM seismic testing is now part of the services offered by our Nuclear Parts and Qualification Department.

Specifications for the new RIM table include a 48" platform, 10" stroke and 3800 lb. payload. RIM table frequency sweep ranges from 1 Hz to 100 Hz with 9 g Acceleration (10 Hz to 64 Hz).
