The new LineVue™ Version II inspection tool for transmission lines has been tested successfully in the field on a live Hydro One 230 kV conductor in Ontario.
Handling by linemen, wanding on and start-up, as well as reliable data transmission from the LineVue™ II worked extremely well under actual field conditions. The LineVue™ II unit will require only minor mechanical adjustment before advancing to the next phase of the testing schedule.
Success in achieving this important milestone has significantly expanded interest in the LineVue™ tool among utilities throughout the North American electricity industry.
