Fibre Optic Cable Testing

Through its IEC 17025 accreditation, Kinectrics is uniquely positioned to provide fibre optic cable tests. An internationally-recognized and qualified independent authority on laboratory testing, Kinectrics has played a key role in the development of the electricity industry’s quality and testing standards for fibre optic cable.

Condition Assessment Testing

Kinectrics performs condition assessment testing of aged conductors, ground wires, hardware, tower steel and insulators. Our capabilities include both controlled laboratory testing and in-situ field testing.


For field testing, Kinectrics employs a variety of advanced tools, including LineVue, which are used to measure the remaining cross-sectional area of steel in Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) and Aluminum Conductor Self-Supporting (ACSS) conductors in engineering units.

Connector Testing

Kinectrics conducts connector testing, and more specifically qualification tests for the mechanical and electrical performance of connectors according to international standards such as ANSI C119 and IEC 61284. Tests include Current Cycle and Mechanical Tension.

In-depth analysis by infrared camera provides detailed information of temperature distribution on connector surfaces.
