(Feb. 5, 2026 - Toronto, Canada) Kinectrics, a division of BWX Technologies Inc. (NYSE: BWXT), announced today the launch of the world’s first Certification Program for Composite Cores used in High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) overhead conductors, supporting the modernization of the world’s power grid.

As the grid sees higher demand and adoption of advanced core conductors, the power delivery industry will benefit from accelerated project schedules through this certification program. Certified products reduce lead times by eliminating the need for project specific type testing and enable compliance verification to be completed earlier in the process. This provides substantial cost savings through the reduction, or full elimination, of repeated type testing and performance verification requirements.

Building on more than 25 years of industry-leading experience, including the successful completion of over 300 HTLS test programs, Kinectrics is uniquely positioned to deliver this certification service. Responding to industry demand for the independent and increased quality control of both polymer-matrix and metal-matrix composite manufacturing, our certification program provides third party performance, safety and long term reliability validation of advanced composite cores used in HTLS conductors, fully compliant with ASTM B987 and IEC 62818 standards.

We believe this certification program creates a win‑win opportunity for all market participants, enhancing confidence, accelerating project timelines and strengthening the reliability of overhead conductor systems worldwide. Our validation will give our clients enhanced trust and reduced risk through ongoing independent verification of compliance, and product consistency across all procurement cycles.
