Louisville, USA – Kinectrics is pleased to announce the purchase of 2.3 acres of land to construct a new 30,000 ft² building in Louisville, KY to house expanded ArcWear facilities.

ArcWear is a service line of Kinectrics AES Inc., a subsidiary of Kinectrics Inc. This innovative laboratory and testing facility will provide Kinectrics ample space and power to support a broader offering in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) testing and certification services.

“ArcWear is excited to expand its service offering to better serve the PPE industry. This new, larger facility will help solidify our position as an industry leader in arc flash testing. Our team brings decades of experience in the testing and development of various fire service PPE. With the support of our parent company, Kinectrics, we will be able to increase our existing services and offer a variety of testing for the firefighting community.” said Brian Shiels, Service Line Manager of ArcWear.

The new facility will offer a substantially expanded range of services and experience providing excellent quality and testing services for a variety of PPE markets – all in one location, including:

Fire service PPE for a variety of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) applications; including garments, helmets, boots, and gloves

  • Structural and wildland firefighting, and technical rescue operations

A brand new, local, High Current Arc Testing Lab (ATL), for type testing, research and development, and training programs

  • Tests to various ASTM and International Electrochemical Commission (IEC) standards
  • Our brand-new state-of-the-art facility in Louisville, KY will allow a substantial investment to our existing High Current Lab in Toronto, ON

Other new PPE service offerings include military protective clothing and exoskeleton evaluations

These new service offerings are an expansion upon existing high-quality services, including certification testing in partnership with Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) and UL Solutions for the following:
