Toronto, Canada - Kinectrics is excited to announce that its state-of-the-art, low-frequency heating (LFH) transformer insulation drying service will be available in early 2023.

Constantly striving to exceed clients’ expectations, this mobile, dry-out system will be the most powerful of its kind in North America. This modern solution to managing moisture issues in power transformers will offer the fastest and most-effective process for field-drying transformer insulation. This technology will yield excellent results in days, offering its clients an alternative to slower, less effective vacuum oil processing.

“Kinectrics is pleased to enhance its growing list of innovative transformer services,” said David Harris, CEO and President of Kinectrics. “Led by industry experts, our transformer low-frequency heating service offers our clients a safe option that significantly reduces down-time and expedites return-to-service.”

This new LFH service can quickly and efficiently dry transformers up to 1200 MVA, three-phase, 765 kV class. In addition, the dry-out system’s performance and ability to remove moisture from the insulation can be easily validated using dielectric spectroscopy, dew point measurement, and rate of moisture extraction. Understanding the critical need for a robust and growing transformer service portfolio, LFH drying is yet another way that Kinectrics can help keep your transformers healthy and operating efficiently throughout their entire life cycle. This capability also adds to Kinectrics’ other transformer services that includes field testing, partial discharge testing, oil testing, forensic studies, and transformer consulting.
