Bruce County, Canada – Kinectrics has been awarded a new contract to work on the "Bruce A" fuel channels in an upcoming planned maintenance and inspection program.

The work aligns with a program and agreement between Bruce Power and Motion Electric Motor Services to support life extension upgrades in both "Bruce A" and "Bruce B".

Kinectrics will deliver a program which tests and confirms fuel channel integrity in all 480 fuel channels that make up the reactor while at the same time reducing outage duration.

“Kinectrics is proud to be selected for this important work for the maintenance outage and will partially draw upon newly-hired staff in our new Tiverton location,” says Kinectrics President and CEO David Harris. “This contract represents a further step in growing our presence in Bruce County. Together with Bruce Power we have the opportunity to create over 50 new jobs in the Bruce County area as our strategy continues to be implemented.”

“Reliable partners like Kinectrics are crucial to deliver our ongoing projects on time and on budget by completing important work that is a key piece of Bruce Power’s life extension program,” says Mike Rencheck, president and CEO of Bruce Power.

Operation of the Bruce site through 2064 will create and sustain 22,000 direct and indirect jobs annually, while creating $4-billion in annual Ontario economic benefits.
